INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

International House Minsk is a member of The International House World Organisation, a network of language schools worldwide that are committed to implementing high standards of quality and innovation in education and training. There are currently over 140 schools in 40 countries. International House was founded in 1953 to provide an innovative approach to language teaching.

International House Minsk has been successfully operating in Belarus since 1994.

QUALITY STANDARDS
We maintain high professional standards in all our educational activities, which is proven by regular inspections arranged by The International House World Organisation.
Throughout International House’s network of schools around the world there is a unified commitment to raise the standards of language teaching. All our teachers are required to be internationally qualified and possess one of the following certificates: CELTA, IHC or Trinity.

INTERNATIONAL TEACHING TEAM
 We are happy and proud to have a team of creative and highly qualified teachers with a high level of expertise and in-depth knowledge of teaching approaches. Most teachers have been with International House Minsk for more than five years. Both the native and non-native teachers of our school remain on the cutting edge of their profession, constantly developing their skills in our in-house teacher training programme. There are monthly seminars for teachers on new teaching strategies and new classroom technology. There is a class observation schedule with feedback from a DoS or ADoS, as well as two yearly professional development meetings.

MODERN METHOD OF TEACHING
We teach our students the natural English language in an effective and practical way, developing all basic skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing. Our approach is interactive, student-centred and communicative with elements of task-based learning. The only language we use in the classroom is English which helps our students start speaking the language from the earliest stage.

INTERNATIONAL EXAM CENTRE
 International House Minsk is the only authorised Cambridge ESOL and IELTS exam centre in Belarus. Here you can prepare for and take one of the four most popular and distinguished language exams in the world. These are the Cambridge exams: FCE, CAE, CPE and IELTS. The latter one is administered by Cambridge ESOL, British Council and IDP Australia.

INTERNATIONAL TEACHER TRAINING CENTER

As of July 2010, International House Minsk became a CELTA training center and runs regular CELTA courses, drawing candidates from all over the world. The course employs the best European and Belarusian tutors and enjoys high reputation among the candidates.

FACILITIES

The school is large with two main departments, each with their own DoS, and several satellites. Each of the school’s departments has a fully stocked staff room with plenty of supplementary materials. There is also computer access, provided b Wi-Fi. Copiers and printers are standard.

SOCIAL LIFE

Socially the school hosts ‘Pub Clubs’ for students. These activities are hugely popular and allow students and teachers to interact more freely in a fun setting. For teachers and staff there are also a New Year Party and End of Year Picnic.
